minced beef

onions

peeled tomatoes
1 teacup
butter
3 eggs
1 teacup
grated cheese

teacups cold milk
Salt,
pepper
½ tsp
ground nutmeg
Sauté the
minced beef in the chopped onion with 2 tbsps butter. Add salt, pepper, nutmeg
and sieved tomatoes and cook for about 45 minutes.
Boil macaroni
in plenty of salted water for 15 minutes.
Drain and
prepare the white sauce as follows: Melt 6 tbsps butter in a saucepan.
Add the
flour, stirring with wooden spoon, and cold milk.
Cook and
stir until mixture boils and thickens.
Remove from
heat, add salt and pepper.
Beat the
eggs and add to the white sauce together with half the grated cheese.
Butter a
baking pan, put in half the macaroni, sprinkle with a little grated cheese and spread
the minced meat mixture over it.
Put the
remaining macaroni on top and cover with the white sauce.
Spread
with a knife.
Sprinkle
with the remaining grated cheese and bake in moderate over for about 45 minutes
or until golden brown.
